 Analysis of XII Boards Result 2011

Highlights:

The overall pass percentage of CBSE is 81.71% which is an increase of 1.84% over 2010.

The total number of candidates who appeared this year was 7,70,043, 9.85% more than last year.

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas have scored  the highest pass percentage of 96.89%, followed by Kendriya Vidyalayas (KV) at 93.38%, Government schools stood at 83.98 and Government aided schools at 79.54%, and that of private schools is at 45.41 per cent.

The JNVs and KVs have had the highest pass percentage for the fifth consecutive year.

Girls continued to fare better than boys with 86.93 per cent clearing the exam as compared to that of boys at 77.83 per cent.

Region wise Chennai topped the list of overall pass percentage with 91.32%, followed by Ajmer with 85.5%. Delhi stood third with a pass percentage of 85.45%

The Chennai region is positioned first in the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya category with a pass percentage of 98.32 followed by Bhubaneshwar and Panchkula. The overall pass percentage in this category is 96.89.

JNVs continued their upward trend, reaching a new high in pass percentage with 96.89%, an increase of 1.58% from that of 2010. From JNVs, a total of 19,757 students appeared for the exam this year. The JNVs' pass percentage is the best for any category of schools.

  • The All India CBSE Class XII 2011 topper is Drvyansh Sharma from Delhi Public School (DPS) Ghaziabad has scored an aggregate of 98.6 per cent.
  • The Topper from Capital is Urmi Uppal from DPS Mathura Road with 97.6. She belongs to Commerce Stream scoring a 100 in Mathematics, 98 in Accounts and Business Studies, 97 in Economics and 95 in English.
  • The Topper in Science Stream from Delhi is Aditya Grover with 97.4% having scored 99 in both Maths and Computer Science, 98 in Physics, 96 in Chemistry and 95 in English.
  • Vishnu Prasad P of JNV, Malappuram, Kerala, was the top scorer for JNVs with 484 out of 500 in science making it to 96.8%.

 Analysis of Class X Boards Result 2010

The total number of Navodayans appearing in Class X Boards in 2010 was 31290 out of the total 902747 candidates registered for class X examination this year. This amounts for an increase of about 9.50 % over that of last year.

An increase of 0.44% in the over all percentage of candidates Eligible for Qualifying Certificate as compared to 2009

Percentage of candidates Eligible for Qualifying Certificate in 2010 was 89.28 as compared to that in 2009 being 88.84

Girls did better than boys. Percentage of girls Eligible for Qualifying Certificate was 90.68 as compared to that of boys which was 88.30

Over all percentage of candidates Eligible for Qualifying Certificate Chennai Region is 96.18 which is the highest as compared to other regions.

New Grading System from 2010

The Grading System was introduced at Secondary School level (for Classes IX & X) effective from 2009-10 Academic Sessions. The details of grading scheme can be found on website www.cbse.nic.in.
